My Top 7 Chrome Productivity Tools For ADHD Solopreneurs

As a solopreneur with ADHD who runs a series of online businesses, I need to use a large amount of digital tools and automated systems to stay on top of managing and growing my businesses.

When you’re a solopreneur like me, your web browser is your office so it’s extremely important that your office isn’t cluttered with distractions. To create the right conditions for focus and flow I’ve had to customize the Chrome interface so I can remove the biggest distractions that hijack my attention.

If you are a solopreneur with ADHD who struggles to stay focused and fully unlock your business potential, I highly recommend creating a separate customized web browser that you use exclusively for deep work, which is completely free of all distracting stuff like entrainment, social media and gaming.

All of these Chrome productivity tools and extensions will also work in Chromium browsers like Sidekick and Brave, which I recommend for those solopreneurs with ADHD like me who want excellent security and privacy features.

1. Momentum Dashboard

A personal dashboard that gives you a clear focus.

I start my day with a single goal that I want to focus on and accomplish. When I first open my Chrome browser each morning, I put this clear goal in my Momentum Dashboard so I will be reminded of my main focus with each new tab I open.

Here’s why I love Momentum Dashboard:

  1. Eliminates the distracting clutter of the new tab window.
  2. Set a focus for your most important goal of the day each morning.
  3. Have your to-do list available on every new tab as a quick reminder.

2. News Feed Eradicator

Block news feeds from Twitter, Facebook, Youtube and more.

Newsfeed Eradicator

Let’s face it, social media and any app that can easily suck you into a vortex of mindless scrolling for hours is absolute kryptonite for an ADHD solopreneur who gets paid by focusing on the right things and providing incredible value to clients.

I’ve built nearly all of my online business without social media because I find it toxic to my brain and sanity. While I use Facebook for events and to manage ad campaigns (social media is great as an advertising platform), I don’t use it on my iPhone and I use News Feed Eradicator to block the newsfeed on my laptop.

Here’s why I love News Feed Eradicator:

  1. It eliminates me wasting potential hours of my precious time and energy at work by eradicating distracting social media news feeds.
  2. This plugin works with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram and Reddit. Pick your kryptonite and block it and you’ll thank me later.
  3. I also avoid any app on my iPhone that can hijack my attention with endless mindless scrolling of the latest news and trivial content.

3. Stayfocusd

Block distracting websites during your work hours.

Stayfocusd

This extension doesn’t look pretty but it gets the job done! During my work hours, I recommend completely blocking all distractions in your web browser. Once you set it up, this apps works pretty seamlessly in the background.

If you find you get sucked into the distractions on another device or browser, then I recommend getting something a little more powerful like Freedom.to

Here’s why I love Stayfocusd:

  1. It completely blocks my most distracting websites in my separate deep work browser.
  2. You can also create a schedule to block specific distracting websites during your work hours.
  3. Alternatively, you can set limit limits for specific distracting websites so they don’t waste too much of your time.

 4. Lastpass

Store your password securely in the cloud.

Lastpass Keychain

One of the biggest cognitive drains is having to remember passwords. Using LastPass, I can remember one password and store all the rest of my passwords in a highly secure keychain.

This way I can instantly log into all my websites and accounts on any device without any hassles. It also removes the biggest security threat, which is using the same or a similar password on multiple websites (one of these websites gets hacked and then you’re really in trouble).

Here’s why I love LastPass:

  1. Eliminates the cognitive load of having to reminder all of your passwords.
  2. More secure than the password keychains built into popular web browsers.
  3. Reduce mental friction of not having your username and passwords easily access by having instant access to them on all devices.

5. Session Buddy

Manage your tabs with multiple workspaces.

Session Buddy

Do you ever find yourself overwhelmed by 30+ tabs open in your Chrome web browser? Of course you do, you are an ADHD solopreneur! This ads a lot of potential distractions as well as increasingly your cognitive load so Session Buddy can help with that.

Instead of just storing bookmarks, when I’m doing research on a specific topic I’ll save all the important websites I found in a single Session Buddy session to easily put up another day.

Here’s why I love Session Buddy:

  1. Eliminates the tab clutter that slows your computer and drains your attention.
  2. Organizes your tabs into different workspaces that you can easily access.
  3. Get used to working with only a few tabs to improve your workflow and reduce mental friction caused by constantly multitasking between tabs.

6. Notion

Offload all your ideas into your second brain.

Notion Web Clipper

I found Notion to be the one indispensable tool to run my online businesses as a solopreneur that manages a remote team of contractors. I love creating Notion templates to streamline tasks and make it easier to manage all the ideas bubbling up out of my chaotic ADHD brain.

I store everything in my Notion and I have set it up as my second brain where I can retrieve anything quickly and I can feed all my notes and knowledge base into AI anytime to create new content.

Here’s why I love Notion:

  1. Notion absolutely blows away other note taking apps.
  2. Organize your chaotic mind with everything you need one click away.
  3. Then you can easily create docs for your second brain that you can feed into AI tools to write and think just like you.

7. Glasp

Highlight text and videos to organize all your ideas.

Glasp Highlight Pages

In addition, to Notion Web Clipper, I also find it helpful to use Glasp to highlight and makes notes about what I read on the web. This helps me remember the important points better and also makes it easier to create links in the content I later will write up.

It also integrates nicely with my second brain in Notion. I really like the design and feel of this app, it has a ton of more features that I won’t get into here but I recommend checking it out.

Here’s why I love Glasp:

  1. Highlight and add notes directly on webpages and automatically save it to your own collections.
  2. Easily share your notes with other note taking apps you use.
  3. Follow like-minded people and see their highlights and notes so you can discover new things.

That’s my top 7 productivity tools! I hope you discovered something new that can help make a difference in your solopreneur journey.
